Supporting Locally
This year, we are sponsoring Sala Futsal Club, which coaches Futsal to boys and girls aged between 10-16 years old. They have teams for under 10’s up to under 16’s. Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced form of the game that originates in South America. Played on hard pitches with small-sided teams. It places emphasis on technical skill in restricted spaces.
At the beginning of February, some of Sala’s girls teams were invited to play in the United Futsal Futures Tournament in Blanes, Spain (near Barcelona). The event comprised of training sessions with top international coaches as well as a tournament against clubs from other countries.
In this tournament, Sala represented England with 3 girls teams in the following age groups:
– U11/12s who won all 3 matches
– U13s girls who won all 3 matches
– U14s/15s who won 2 and lost 1
The standard and quality of the tournament was high, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
Head coach, Neil has said “We are very privileged to have gained sponsorship from CG&Co and will wear tracksuits, Travel Polo’s & Playing kit Sponsored by CG&Co, and the team looks very professional in the kit!” Supporting local teams that really promote and inspire young people in the Manchester regions is high on our agenda, and knowing how much positivity the likes of Sala Futsal Club and head coach Neil bring to so many is something they should be proud of- good luck to players in their next tournament!
