This year, the team at CG&Co have selected Home Start Manchester as their chosen charity to partner with for various different fundraising activities, including the Great Manchester 10k.
Home Start Manchester recruit, train and support an army of local parent volunteers, many of which have been through challenges themselves in the past. They are carefully matched with a family and visit them every week.
The visits are often in their homes and provide:
- Friendship
- A non-judgmental ear
- Practical help and guidance
- Help to get out
- Access services
- Build a network of support.
The small staff team equip and guide over 90 volunteers with robust training, supervision, and checks. Home Start is set up as a network of over 200 independent branches across the UK. CG&Co will be working closely with the Manchester branch in their fundraising endeavours for 2024, in hopes of making a difference to the local community.
Home start currently have 80 families on the waiting list to access their services and support and we hope that through our partnership we are able to have a positive impact on some of these people. Donating to charity has always been high on the agenda for everyone at CG&Co, but this year we have set specific goals to ensure we focus our time and resources in bettering the Manchester community as much as we can.
The Great Manchester 10k takes place on the 26th of May and we have 10 employees who will be taking on the challenge in conjunction with Home Start.
